‘Tis the Season to Give

Over the last two weeks, our annual Holiday Parties for clients and contractors were held in both Texas and Florida.  The Holiday spirit continued in this season of giving with our tradition of volunteering in the community.

The Texas Brightwing office celebrated the holiday season at Mattito’s in Dallas, and the Florida team held their event at the authentic Irish Pub, JG McGuinness.  Everyone enjoyed a fun filled evening of good food, conversation and awesome margarita’s or Guinness, depending on the location. With about fifty people in attendance at each event, the holiday spirit was definitely in the air! It was a great opportunity to see old and new friends and catch up on family happenings and holiday plans.

Part two of our holiday celebration included a volunteer project with The Community Partners of Dallas.  Community Partners of Dallas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring safety and restoring dignity and hope to abused and neglected children by providing resources and support to the caseworkers of Dallas County Child Protective Services.

One CPD’s main events is the toy drive each year that fulfills more than 10,000 of the Christmas wishes for the children of Dallas County. Brightwing was part of the toy distribution day where the wishes are fulfilled and the case workers picked up the gifts.  For many of these children, this may be the first time in their lives that they receive a gift just for them! It was an awesome day working in the warehouse, delivering and organizing toys.  And Karen even got the opportunity to test drive one of the bikes!

We loved having y’all with us for all the fun. Things are all wrapped up over at the warehouse and all the gifts are distributed! Thousands and thousands of children who otherwise would have gone without will have cheerful, happy Christmas mornings—thank you so very much for being part of the effort. With gratitude from all of us, Joanna
