With cheap Wi-Fi boards like the ones from Particle.io, it’s getting easier to prototype a web-connected gadget. I’ll talk about how I modified my Silvia espresso machine to control the temperature precisely and used a Ruby web app to monitor and tune the controller. Speaker.

 

Detroit.rb is a group of rubyists that meet in downtown Detroit. Topics of discussion tend to have a some web technology or strategy around them. We embrace open source and welcome people of any skill level to learn and maybe even teach us a thing or two.

Each presenter will have 10 minutes to showcase their app to our audience; all presentations will include answering MoMoDetroit provided questions that will help our audience gain a clear understanding about your app, what it does, why you developed it, and how well it’s working for those who use it.

 

Mobile Monday Detroit is a chapter of Mobile Monday Michigan which executes on Mobile Monday International objectives by delivering a balanced approach of business and technical content. We will look to the Michigan business community for this content, as well as beyond our State in order to make certain the Michigan community is made aware of developments taking place outside our area that can aid their business.

Our goals include tackling current issues with the legal system, promoting the creation of legal technology solutions, and building community across disciplines. Detroit has always been home to innovative thinkers. It is time to apply that tradition to law!

IT in The D was started by IT professionals for IT professionals. We didn’t like any other group out there, so we started our own! At our events, you might meet some recruiters, some out of work developers, some sales guys, some network admins, some web guys and some senior level management

 

So come on out, bring some business cards (or don’t, it’s OK), meet some like-minded people in the Metro Detroit area, and who knows, you could meet a life-long friend, a new business partner, or no one at all…it’s what you make of it that makes these events great.
