Volunteering on the Boss’ Dime

“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.” – Audrey Hepburn

Volunteering is a huge part of our lives at Brightwing.  We love to give back to the community and make a difference in people’s lives.  Just this year, Brightwing has a recorded  78 volunteer hours.  A little over two years ago, Brightwing began to give their employees Volunteer Time Off.  This means each employee can volunteer up to 16 hours each calendar year.  One of the Non Profit Organization’s our Michigan office enjoys volunteering with is Art Road.

The Art Dog of Art Road

“My favorite part of Art Road is seeing every student smile the moment they walk into art class. Giving these students the opportunity to highlight their creative side is what truly brings me back to Art Road!” – Jeff Borra Business Development

“I have been lucky to volunteer for Art Road twice now. Each time it has been a wonderful experience. The kids are so well behaved and really appreciate your assistance. The projects that we have done both times have been really creative and fun. I learn something new each time we visit. When the children’s face’s light up because they know you are there to help. It does my spirit good!” – Katey Olsowy Business Development Manager

I think this is really great for what a small business does. To take time out of the working day to go to Art Road and help kids use their talents and creative sides.

I think more business’s should start doing this type of volunteer work.

Great Job Brightwing!! Keep up the Great Work!!!!
